New Student Checklist
There are two authorizations that are important when interacting with Student Business & Account Services. Giving access to one of the authorizations does NOT give you access to the other. Students must do both!
- Financial Information Release
- Authorizes SBAS to discuss eBill/Financial Aid with parents/guardians when they call/email/walk-in into the office.
- Authorized Users in eBill system
- Gives Authorized User access to student’s eBill account. Allows authorized users to view activity, make payments, set up payment arrangements, and access all eBill information with their own login credentials.
- When new eBill statements are generated, any authorized users on the account will receive the same email that the students are sent.
PAYMENT PLAN OPTIONS:
Deferred Payment Plan Option through Auburn University
-
- You can divide the FIRST official eBill of each semester into two half payments. The first official eBill statements of the semester are issued in July (Fall semester), November (Spring semester), and April (Summer semester).
- There is no notification necessary for this option. Every student on campus is afforded this opportunity to split their first eBill each semester. When you login to make your payment, you can simply divide the amount that is due in half and type that amount into the payment box. You will not be penalized as long as at least 50% of the balance has been paid by the first due date.
- AT LEAST THE FIRST 50% OF YOUR BILLED BALANCE MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO THE FIRST DUE DATE OF EVERY SEMESTER. IF WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED AT LEAST THE FIRST 50% OF YOUR PAYMENT BY THAT DATE, THEN YOUR SEMESTER SCHEDULE WILL BE CANCELLED DUE TO NON-PAYMENT.
NELNET
- Nelnet and Auburn University have partnered to allow students to make payments over a 3-4 month period (starting two months in advance of the first official eBill statement of each semester). Visit com/auburn or call Nelnet directly at 1-800-609-8056 to learn more about this option.
DIRECT DEPOSIT (Refunds):
- Student Business & Account Services processes refunds via Direct Deposit for financial aid and any other excess balance present on student accounts.
- Students will be required to link the bank account that they wish to have the funds refunded to via the My Finances page of their AU Access. This is done by following the link labeled “Direct Deposit Information (Fast & Easy Refunds) from the My Finances page.
- Once your banking information has been updated successfully, your refund will be processed automatically by Student Business & Account Services. Email notifications will be sent to your auburn.edu email address when a direct deposit transaction has taken place.
